I don’t get any sci-fi porn here. To tell the truth, I feel quite cheated. ๐Ÿ˜›

I will probably be shot for saying this, but I really think the first matrix film had an awesome end. (I thought the other two were crap).

If I had to choose one though, I would say the end of Contact. When the school child asks Dr Arroway (Ellie) if she thinks there are ‘aliens out there’ she looks up and says that if there aren’t, then it would be ‘an awful waste of space.’

    – Now to most that is just a typical feel good hollywood ending, but if you take it in context of the story you see it is much more than that : It is her only true admission of ‘faith’, the lack of which had cost her the initial trip. It is an outstanding intelligent end to a brilliant story, that could only have been written by a master scientest like Carl Sagan.

I’ve been toying around with it a fair bit, Tony really helped me out a lot over skype.

I must just say, @!#@!#@!# ‘create’ instead of ‘save’. Everytime I create a video file I swear when I save it. I can’t believe that two hours of screwing around with the software and I still didn’t work that one out. (Tony will know what I am talking about)

I am playing around nicely with the software, battling to get a clear audio recorded though. I just look so dumb on camera, and no amount of editing can fix that for me!

I take it you have a samsung?

I think samsung use T9, and Nokia and everyone else call it ‘predictive texting’.

None the less, I do use it when I send a text or ‘sms’ as we call it here. Most of the time I couldn’t be @rsed and just phone the person anyway.

The boy’s name Duncan is pronounced DUN-kin. It is of Scottish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is “dark warrior; brown fighter.” A royal name in early Scotland. Literary: in Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”, Duncan is king of Scotland.

A “Gurney” is a stretcher with wheels.

    I’d stick with Duncan.

Well, it’s a bit of a catch 22 for me. I do think it helps to have a bit of eye candy here and there, sex does sell, but I also prefer it when characters are that much more ‘real’.

It’s a very thin line. I think Lexx is a good example of how to do it – Zev/Xev is offset by Stan.

Atom Age Vampire, The Brain from Planet Arous & The Crawling Eye! Three of my best. They’re so bad, they’re awesome!

Also, was thinking about the ‘invaders from mars’. That should get a mention.

What would you say to Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and the Return of the Killer Tomatoes? I don’t think they should get a mention as they are ‘spoofs’.

I have to give a shout out to my greatest movie of all time… Creature from Black Lagoon. Such a cult in my books it’s almost a religious experience for me everytime I watch it (Which is pretty ogten).

Had another thought as well : Flash Gordon? Any takers?

I think it looks really lame. It doesn’t fit with the rest of the feature.

I don’t understamd why they do things like this. I like extra scenes and features added in, but not when they do this when the movie is so old.

As far as I am concerned, Star Trek and Star Wars would/will always stand the test of time, no matter how out of date the special effects are.

Well, not really new, but I still can’t seem to take my “Killers” cd out of my car.

I think Snow Patrol’s ‘Chasing Cars’ and Keanes ‘Is it any wonder’ are still my two songs of the moment though.

Best CD of the moment is Angels and Airwaves. Their song ‘the machine’ is probably one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.

Hmmm, no Back to the Future.

Not a bad list. You’ll never be able to please all sci-fi fans as we all have our favourite ‘flavours’

This made me think of a list someone did here not so long ago about their best sci-fi authors. I don’t believe Jules Verne came up.

    Unlikely.

I heard CT on the radio here and they were teasing her about being the only Afrikaans sci-fi action/supehero and she said never again.

She wasn’t having a go at the movie, but that she wanted to something different, now it’s done it’s not likely to happen again.

    Rats!

    I’ve missed another one.

I really would have liked to been in this episode. I thought the show was really cool. The audio was a little bit broken in places, but I think we can get that fixed.

Faldor – Your bit was fantastic. I really enjoyed it. I think the team is really starting to come together and feed off each other quite nicely.

    Lets keep it up.
