hmmm, of all of us, i think frey may be the only ‘minted’ one [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]…although saddy does consume buckets of wine, but that’s in the interest of writiing proper lexx eppy reviews [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]…at any rate, i don’t know as i want to chase any more scifi people around; those little buggers are fast [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] and jeff is already hard enough to pin down, let alone the rest of the people we are currently circling around…so you’ll have to settle for the following three; rolf, jeff h and pat z (frey showed me a draft, you guys are going to love it)…and three more on the horizon,( more details as we get them in our sights and squirming [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]) love fx

ah, time comes full circle; about this time last year i was having the same problem in new york city; blackie lived close enough to loan me hers…it is definitely ‘art film’…slow moving, interesting, but not my cup of tea; i prefer david lynch and david cronenberg…try ebay, or maybe someone will loan you a copy as it is not ‘in print’ so to speak…and mm’s performance is definitely worth seeing, although i could happily have lived out my life without the ‘boardroom’ scene…the only time he really ’emotes ‘ is when it is too late…the rest of the time i am not sure how much he is acting [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

it’s a pity that we don’t see many people who make good television behaving in the way the Lexx crew did.It really is amazing to think that this show was made on peanuts, and equally amazing is to find a group of people who are doing it for love and fun, and are not preoccupied with how much money they can make out of it…for that reason alone, Lexx will always be special.

thank you squishy, for reading our little effort, and for reminding us what a unique effort this show is…incredibly talented people laboring for love if not lucre and having something to be proud of…yes lexx is inconsistent, but it is still one of the groundbreaking efforts of the last few years, both technologically and story wise…may the spirit of lexx live long and prosper [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img], and kudos to the fine people of salter, for such an incredible and memorable experience
lord squishums is right, but i would like to add a reason he did not mention; if the fine people at acorn and contender do not make money off of the dvd’s that they have been contracted to produce for salter, there will be no incentive to do any more ‘official’ dvd releases…and aleck has worked very hard to include all kinds of goodies like interviews and uncut versions for our enjoyment…so while i understand your eagerness to have copies of lexx, i have to support the antipiracy stance while there is any chance of legitimately acquiring lexx [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]…thanx for posting though, love fx (who has just bought a dvd player home theatre system, and is anticipating buying the entire acorn catalogue of lexx to play on it [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img])

hi wyatt, what i was referring to in the marty interview is that many of the shows from 4 are loosely based on earth television/movies/popular cultural references…which is appropriate since the lexx is taking place on earth…so we have the vampire episodes, xevivor,midsummer night’s dream, apocalexx now, prime ridge and others…of course, there have been more subtle references to other scifi all along in lexx, many of which have been discussed in other threads here…so far i like 4 better than 3 because it is more like 2; more twisted or just outright silly…3 has a different, even darker appeal …as to mcmanus, i do not know if he has contempt for all of lexx and its fans…i think he is not a fan of popular culture (brian says mm does not own a tv, we all know he doesn’t have a computer) but he does seem to read a lot, and of course, play the piano…my take still is that he is burned out, and that overall he prefers the more ‘intellectual’ arts, such as theatre and music, and that he is somewhat embarassed by lexx and some of the excesses of fandom [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]…the only questions i wanted to ask him when i went to hali was in fact “are you glad lexx is over?”, and what, if anything, he would miss about it…of course, i didn’t really get that chance [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img], but it would have gone a long way towards letting him speak for himself [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

thanx for the hugs and the good wishes! my dad was so full of doom and gloom when i brought it up that i haven’t even told him i did it yet [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]…frey, bless her heart, knew i would be obsessing, so she called me the night before to jolly me [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] anyway, it’s fun and weird (i keep wanting to take my contact lenses out before i go to bed [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img])…just make sure your hubby doesn’t go to one of those budget places (these guys examined my eyes three times the first time, again the preop visit, then again before and after surgery…plus i have to go a bunch more times this year so they can ‘fine tune’ if necessary at six months)…and it’s all included in the original fee…
it’s nice not to have to carry prescription sunglasses plus normal glasses every time you get in the car [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]quote:

jj, i will be happy to ask your first two questions but i absolutely will NOT ask her about her weight! you never ask women about their weight, and you particularly don’t ask if they have been on a crash diet as it implies that they a)lost a lot of weight, and therefore, b) they were fat before…believe me jj, this is not the way to make friends with a female [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]…besides, only an anorexic looks thin in beige pleather! even bunny/patricia zentilli bitched about the white lycra costumes in gametown/s3; she had to starve her already slight body for fear of bulging out of control in that suit…meanwhile jeff puestil looked like one of those twisted balloon animals, even though he probably wasn’t all that hefty in person either [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]
