ParticipantAll Good Things… took place on stardate 47988.1, Caretaker part 1 began on stardate 48315.6, so there was a period of about eleven months between the end of Star Trek: The Next Generation and the beginning of Star Trek: Voyager.
In real time, filming for the latter episode began only days after Star Trek: Generations was wrapped up, and parts of it were filmed simultaneously with the final episode of the earlier series.
So there wasn’t that big a gap.

There were a few shows where the Enterprise visited planets that’s inhabitants patterned their culture after Earth. That way the special effects people didn’t have to make it look like a alien planet.

ParticipantBefore Gomtuu, Moya, or the Lexx there was the biomechanoid derelict in Alien, a living spaceship grafted to its pilot which was killed by its cargo.
And before that there was the Axos, a living spacwship that can detatch parts of itself for “crew,” which appeared in the 1972 Doctor Who episode The Claws of Axos. The T.A.R.D.I.S. itself was eventually revealed to have organic components, too.
And there was probably something before that. Most of the sci-fi concepts in use today have a long history.

ParticipantSpeaking of Twilight, does anyone know who wrote The Wheel (the poem that Kai recites)? Was it Lex Gigeroff, Paul Donovan…Michael McManus? Does it say in the credits? Is it some famous poem I’ve just never heard of?
The wheel, it turns, it comes around,
It makes an ancient rolling sound. The billowing clouds that puff and flower,
They’re calling me to an ancient bauer.Where no thing is shall nothing be,
Only then will I be free.Gather ’round the wheel, my friends,
And make amends, and make amends,
For all this is about to end.The fickle fates, the cosmic grind,
Conspire to leave our friends behind. The night doth bleed into morn,
Sunlight seeping through the dawn.Fellows, come. Share with me your tired days,
And let my windy words fill your empty sails,
As you travel ‘cross grey hills and brownish dales.——————

ParticipantThe worst error in Lexx is the whole premise of the “patches in the sky.” Fruitcake tells Gubby Marx that the Wolfram-T Galaxy is gone. So Gubby goes over to his telescope ans, sure enough, that galaxy is missing. Now, galaxies are something like 5 billion light years apart, and Mantrid started disassembling stuff less than a year before that episode, so there’s no way the light (or lack of light) from the Wolfram-T galaxy could have reached there.
Now, you could reason that Gubby had some sort of subspace telescope, but then in The Net we see pieces of the galaxy disappearing before our very eyes!
What sort of scientific negligence could have possessed the Lexx creators to write in a plot point so blatantly flawed as the “patches” in Patches in the Sky, let alone a visual effect like the one at the beginning of The Net that would get any viewer riled up in its impossibility?!? ParticipantThe Wizard of Oz is a great book tainted by a lousy movie and sub-par sequels.
I think it’s the best modern fantasy story (the best fantasy of all times is, of course, The Odyssey by Homer).
They should make a new film version, with state-of-the-art visual effects. Now the wondrous visions of L. Frank Baum can finally be realized onscreen!

ParticipantI’m a Marcus fan! Now, I know people say it was noble and stuff, but I still think his death was poorly written. It would be good to see him back, but not possible if this is set after the series.
Something that came to mind-in Sleeping in Light (great ep!) Delenn said Lennier was dead. Now, I don’t think any episode dealt with that, and I know you don’t just kill a major character off-screen, so I was thinking maybe Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers would show the conflict that ended his life. Just a thought.
Man, all my favorite Babylon 5 characters keep getting killed off (yet Ivanova lives to a ripe old age)!

ParticipantMy post did not contain anything vulgar, sexual, or insulting. Why would you censor it, yet leave the multitude of offensive posts by other members (and non-members) untouched?
If you had deleted the whole topic, my post wouldn’t have been necessary.
I was not speaking as myself, but as the representitive of the message board. It could just as easily have been any other member. I was just the one who saw it first.
You didn’t just delete the post, either, you replaced it with something I didn’t say. That’s worse than censorship.

ParticipantSuper Nova is, without a doubt, the worst Lexx movie. Watching it made me physically ill.

I tried what it said on one of those instruction sites but it didn’t work.
